All good ideas in life are born after a few drinks down the pub. And to prove that point, a conversation at the bar back in 2015 about running at a beer festival in the Western Park area of Leicester soon turned into one of the highlights of the local social calendar – the Western Park Beer Festival and MPH is proud to be sponsoring the event again this year.
Ten years on and the same team of volunteers will be celebrating their tenth event this year (with a fallow year during Covid), having raised tens of thousands of pounds for local charities in the process.
This year’s special tenth anniversary Western Park Beer Festival will take place at the usual location, St Anne’s Church Hall in Letchworth Road, on August 29-30th.
And as usual, the team will be serving a wide range of amazing craft beers, ciders, wines, fizz and gin.
Doors will open at 5pm on Friday (August 29), and the family-orientated session will start at 1pm on Saturday (August 30) with the usual evening session finishing at midnight. Food will be served on both days.
Chairman David McAuley said:
“Ten years ago, we started the festival so the community could get together over a few beers – and raise money for local charities.
“Since then, the festival has grown into an event that we are all immensely proud of.
“Not only is it a great weekend for the community but over the last ten years we have raised more than £60,000 for our chosen charities.
“We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years, either by coming along or by sponsoring us, which allows us to pass on the profits to our worthy charities.
